So I discovered something that I honestly should have been expecting....But this just confirms it
The Amazing World of Gumball, a cartoon on Cartoon Network, could be officially ending. I should have known this as the channel only posted re-uploads from previous episodes but I thought other episodes were in the making. Apparently it takes 2 years to animate a season which would explain why.
I had also thought perhaps the animators had decided to take a break since there were so many seasons already released. There were so many possible reasons to explain this until I got lost watching the drama on what really happened.
The main person behind the show was Ben Boquelet, a British-french animator. The show was basically about Gumball, a relatable loser and his crazy family. By the way, when calling Gumball a loser, this is not opinion. It is a fact as he refers to himself in such a way in the actual show. The reason for its widespread popularity was because much of the content is funny as it makes fun of society and is quite relatable to the overall human experience. However, the animator had tweeted that he had enough after a long run of the show.
There were other dreams he wanted to pursue. So there was the last episode that everyone had been waiting for which got the fans really excited. Unfortunately, it was a big let down as it didn't wrap up anything and just looked like an average episode to the series. It was found out later that the animator didn't intend to end the series with the episode but that's what happened. Since then there has been no official Gumball episode attached directly to the series.
At some point, the animator had also teased the idea of a movie. Expectedly, this got the fans excited again as it would revive the characters from a dead series. After a long time of waiting, there was no movie set out. To be honest, there was no confirmation of a movie being officially set to be released either. A theorist had then described the situation looking at a business point of view. Making a movie for a show would normally be a tactic used to invite more viewers and bring more excitement to the show. This means that there had to be something done after the movie. However....the problem was that the animator wanted to end the show on a movie and didn't want to extend it much further.
Eventually what happened was that there was a short special called "Darwin's yearbook" which shortly brought the characters back to life again. However, the episodes of this series weren't really new. They were scenes used from the actual show and the only animation part was the making of the yearbook. While it was fun to watch, there wasn't really much of a conclusion. However, I would guess it is the best you would get.
The show had a good run, and it's unfortunate to see it end. However, it's understandable to move on as there had already been many episodes created and there was no real plot. They were all just loosely tied together.
I guess it's time to find another show to watch! ✌
P.S-My computer was being really annoying when typing this. It would literally mix up two different words for no apparent reason. So yall better appreciate my special long post....thanks!!♥
